The Love Studio

Shikilia Milele

A ring concept inspired by the ubiquitous worm drive hose clamp. Adam Yawe and Musa Omusi worked together to develop this ring concept. The thought process behind its production has been documented and assembled into a zine; connecting the hose clamp to the idea of the ouroboros and questioning how meaning changes over time using Swahili sheng as a case study.

Viewers were invited to experience the ring and zine as well as the thought process behind their development at The Love Studio on Mandera road from the 11th of August to the 13th of August 2023 from 2pm to 6pm .

A 3D printed version of the ring was produced on a pre-order only basis reserved for those that were able to experience the in person presentation.
